Me an' EA Sports Fitness - Week Three

Day one, January 22nd - Rest Day.

Day two, January 23rd - Fourteen minutes and consisted of:

  • Dance moves with arms and legs - do the Lawnmower!
  • Hitting targets and heavy bag with fists, legs, and knees
  • Baseball - catches, pitches, and hits (5 homers)
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Backward rows
  • Squats
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 107 calories, and got a gold (96%) rating! My ending weight was 223.5 pounds, and my blood sugar was 129.

Day three, January 24th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:

  • Volleyball bumps and spikes
  • Tennis serves and returns
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Lunges
  • Alternating runs, walks, and leg lifts
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 162 calories, and got a silver (76%) rating. My ending weight was 223 pounds, and my blood sugar was 110.

Day four, January 25th - Rest Day.

Day five, January 26th - Skip day, but I went bowling for an hour.


Day six, January 27th - Eighteen minutes and consisted of:

  • Dance moves
  • Jumps
  • In-line skating with jumps
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Lunges
  • Alternating runs, walks, and leg lifts
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 145 calories, and got a gold (97%) rating! My ending weight was 223 pounds, and my blood sugar was 110.

Day seven, January 28th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Basketball lunges and throws
  • Jumps
  • Squats and holding squats
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Lunges
  • Alternating runs, walks, and leg lifts
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 142 calories, and got a silver (77%) rating. My ending weight was 218 pounds, and my blood sugar was 110.

Me an' EA Sports Fitness - Week Two

Day one, January 15th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Hitting targets and heavy bag with fists, legs, and knees
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Basketball target shooting
  • Squats
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 139 calories, and got a silver (77%) rating. My ending weight was 222 pounds, and my blood sugar was 129.

I have bought Walk It Out to augment these workouts by walking on rest days. My scores have been in the 40% range due to inactivity on those days. Tomorrow will be the first day that I use the game on a rest day - we'll see what happens! I tried Walk It Out! and it was terrible - I'll see if I can create a walking program in EA Sports Fitness instead or do it for real! There's an idea for ya!

Day two, January 16th - Rest day: forty-five minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking for two miles via Walk It Out! After Suelane and I tried it, we found the software to be terrible, so I returned it.
Day three, January 17th - Day 10 of the overall 30-day challenge! Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Volleyball bumps and returns
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Tennis returns and overhand smashes
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 149 calories, and got a gold (96%) rating due to walking for 45 minutes yesterday. My ending weight was 221.5 pounds, and my blood sugar was 88 (low because I skipped lunch today due to a late breakfast).

Day four, January 18th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Arm dance moves
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Tennis returns and overhand smashes
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 155 calories, and got a silver (72%) rating. My ending weight was 218.5 pounds, and my blood sugar was 92.


Day five, January 19th -Rest day.


Day six, January 20th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Hitting targets and heavy bag with fists, legs, and knees
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Basketball target shooting
  • Squats
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 136 calories, and got a silver (74%) rating. My ending weight was 224 pounds, and my blood sugar was 88.

Day seven, January 21st - Half-way done with a trophy and the end of week two! Sixteen and a half minutes and consisted of:
  • Hitting targets and heavy bag with fists, legs, and knees
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Volleyball bumping and returns
  • Tennis fore and backhand serves and returns
  • Long run and walk
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 129 calories, and got a silver (76%) rating. My ending weight was 224 pounds, and my blood sugar was 88.

New workouts are coming! One of them is a raised squat with toe elevation! Yikes!!

Me an' EA Sports Fitness - Week One

Day one, January 8th - got the kit, set it up and started the 30-day workout. It took twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Punches and kicks against targets and a punching bag
  • In-line skating and avoiding targets via leg lifts
  • Squats
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 144 calories, and got a silver (69%) rating. My weight was 224 pounds (1.5 lbs less than when I started!), and my blood sugar was 92.

Day two, January 9th - Twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Long, slow leg lifts while walking (really worked my thighs)
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Tennis volleys and serves
  • Squats
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 172 calories, and got a silver (74%) rating. My ending weight was 223 pounds, and my blood sugar was 92.

Day three, January 10th - Rest day - only entered log book data.

Day four, January 11th - Wii board focus and upper body strength. It took twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Tennis volleys
  • Aerobic dancing
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 114 calories, and got a gold (84%) rating! My ending weight was 221.5 pounds, and my blood sugar was 110.

Day five, January 12th - Aerobic workout today. It took twenty minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Jumping lunges
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Punching targets
  • In-line skating with ramp jumps
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 145 calories, and got a silver (75%) rating. I met my first goal of burning 500 calories in 7 days, so I reset it to 1000 calories! My ending weight was 222 pounds, and my blood sugar was 122.

Day six, January 13th - Rest day - only entered log book data.

Day seven, January 14th - Upper body workout today. It took seventeen minutes and consisted of:
  • Walking and running around a track
  • Rib curls
  • Arm curls
  • Shoulder lifts
  • Punching targets
  • In-line skating with ramp jumps
After the work-out, I was evaluated at burning 129 calories, and got a silver (76%) rating. I ran 25 total laps on the track and got a trophy for it! My ending weight was 225 pounds, and my blood sugar was 140.

So far, week one is completed and I am seeing some results already in terms of tone, energy, and metabolism! I really enjoy the variety of workouts and the overall progress.
